 and if she thinks you and I are a thing, then she'll want to get back together.

*누군가 뭔가 기다리는 동안 숨을 참아야 한다면 (hold breath)

'절대 그럴 일 없으니 기다리다 숨 막혀 죽지 말라'는 뉘앙스에서 만들어진 표현.

같은 의미에서 'don't get your hopes up'가 있다. '희망을 높이지 말고 내려놓아라'는 표현.
