Pillsbury Doughboy = 유명 제과회사의 마스코트

 

*bake sale는 미국 학교에서 행사하는 일종의 자선행사. 과자같은걸 만들어서 팔은 수익음을 기부.

 

 

 You know it's easier if you make something you can cut into squares like brownies?

I'm Just saying, my mom used to do it for my brother.

브라우니 같은거 만들어서 사각으로 자르는게 쉬울걸.

엄마가 내 동생을 위해 그렇게 하시곤 했어.

 

squares = 사각형

 used to  = ~하곤 했다.

 

 

Peter: What, did you not read my note? I'm taking you to Greg's party. 

LJ: Oh, I'm not going to that. 

Peter: Yeah, you are. One, Gen is gonna be there, and two, parties are in the contract. 

뭐야, 너 내 쪽지 안 읽었어? Greg네 파티 가야지.

난 거기 안 갈 거야.

당연히 가야지.  첫 번째로 Gen이 거기 올 거고, 두 번째로 파티 가기로 계약했잖아.

 

contract = 계약(서)

in the contract = 계약서에 제시되어 있다

 

Peter: I'm here to pick up LJ, take her to a friend's party. 

The parents will be home, and I will have her home early. Is it alright if we go? 

Dad: Yes. 

Lara Jean 데리러 왔어요, 친구네 파티에 데려 가려구요.

부모님이 집에 계실거고, 집에 일찍 데려다 줄게요. 가도 되나요?

LJ: Fine. But you can't lose it. Ok? That's my favorite scrunchie. 

이건 내가 가지고 있을게. 난 네가 머리 푸는게 더 좋아.

좋아, 하지만 잃어버리면 안돼. 알았지? 그건 내가 제일 좋아하는 헤어밴드야.

scrunchie = 곱창머리끈, 헤어밴드

 

 

Peter: Alright, you need to make this your new background. 

LJ: What's your new background? 

Peter: Girl Come on. You know I already got it. Leggo.

Greg: It's my parents' pad, but I'll take credit.

take credit for = ~의 공을 차지하다, ~에 대한 공을 가로채다, 생색내다
